Heller Hoof Rasps

Heller hoof rasps are designed and crafted by Heller International. With a long and proud history of providing top quality farrier rasps, Heller International has joined the Mustad Group in their more recent history, with the brand expanding worldwide.

The History Of Heller Hoof Rasps

Born in 1836, Heller started off as a family run company that created all Heller hoof rasps and files by hand in Newark. Elias Heller bought his two sons, Elias George and Paul Elias, into the business in 1866, and this is when, with the help of a larger factory and the expansion of railroad transportation, Heller hoof rasps began to expand.

By 1953, Heller hoof rasps were produced in the company’s Newcomerstown facility, which occupied approximately 250,000 square feet. Heller had risen to be one of the world’s top three brands and in 1955, Simonds acquires the renowned Heller Bros brand.

Since becoming a member of the Mustad Hoofcare Group in 2006, Heller International has been manufacturing Heller hoof rasps in Rionegro Antioquia, Colombia, and the brand continues to provide top quality products to farriers around the world.
