Designed specifically for, and in collaboration with, farriers, EQUINET is Mustad’s Farrier Business App. The application works to support you in record keeping, sharing information, and collaborating with all stakeholders, therefore allowing you to service the welfare of each horse to the highest standard.

 

How Can EQUINET Make Life Easier?

EQUINET is feature packed, and you as the farrier choose how much detail you include in each of your reports. You’re in full control of which features you make use of, and do not have to use all features of the EQUINET app or fill in all fields. The interface allows each user to log as much or as little detail as you like, and you can enjoy any, or all, of the benefits below:

Free And Flexible

EQUINET is designed to make your life easier, that’s why all features are free to use. The app works both online and offline (making it perfect for remote locations) and there are no hidden costs (excludes any third party software charges used for Accounting/Invoicing - like Xero or QuickBooks).

EQUINET can also be used on multiple devices to boost efficiency and streamline processes. The mobile app is perfect for on the job tasks, while the web app allows for easy completion of general admin tasks such as reviewing reports and sending invoices.

Easy Inventory Management

If inventory management is one of your main struggles in your business, EQUINET will be your best friend. The app automates inventory tracking for you, and you can be as detailed as you like with your records. For example, EQUINET lets you load in the products you currently have and keep track of what you’ve used. This makes it easy to see what you need to get in your next order, a task that can also be completed in the app.

Streamlined Shopping

Speaking of ordering in the app, how often have you forgotten to order a product you need from your dealer? It’s very frustrating and time consuming if you have to visit again or wait for products to arrive by post, but EQUINET can help prevent this.

This Shopping List feature allows you to build your order over days or weeks, adding products as you need them, and send everything to your dealer at once. This minimises the risk of forgetting to order any products you need and makes it easier to keep on top of your stock. To further streamline the process, EQUINET also allows you to duplicate a previous shopping list and edit it to change quantities or add/delete products you don’t need.

Use other brands? EQUINET is built to make your life easier, and the ordering function doesn’t discriminate. Our system includes all hoofcare products from any supplier in your regional market and is not limited to Mustad Group options. If we have missed any products you use regularly, you can let us know and we will add it to the list, or you can add your own custom product that you can continue to reorder with your dealer.

Reliable Records And Collaboration

One of the biggest benefits of using EQUINET is that it makes it easy to keep on top of your records and collaborate with other professionals assisting each horse. With the mobile app it’s easy to keep track of works you’ve completed at any given appointment by quickly adding photos, details of products used and any additional notes. These can then be shared with colleagues, vets or clients via SMS, WhatsApp or e-mail for streamlined communication.

Additionally, if you work in a team, you can collaborate with other members of your crew so that all data is stored in a secure, central location by using the Teams feature.

Simple Scheduling

Forget random notes floating around your truck, hastily scribbled appointments in your diary and having to chase clients. EQUINET syncs with your smartphone calendar, allows the creation of bookings and provides a full overview of your schedule. It also allows you to manage client communications with inbuilt RSVP and reminder functions.

Secure Storage

Data security is key, especially with the amount of cyber threats floating around these days. The good news is that all app data is stored on secure servers, meaning you can spend less time stressing about losing vital client info or being exposed to threats.

Importantly, your data is protected by the very strict GDPR European Union privacy laws and EQUINET will not share or sell your data. While we do use the data to improve our products and services within the hoofcare industry, the vast majority of companies do this, and your information will not be personally identifiable.

Integrated Invoicing

If you’ve been looking for a way to handle everything through a single system, look no further. EQUINET integrates seamlessly with both Xero and QuickBooks Accounting, meaning less programs running while completing your admin. You’ll still need to pay your monthly subscription fee for these platforms, but there are no additional fees for integration, and EQUINET does not receive any payment from these integrations.

How To Get Started With EQUINET:

Getting started with EQUINET is quick and easy. After you have entered your details and configured your account, there are only two steps that must be completed to reap all the benefits of using the app.

Create Your Contacts

Contacts are a key part of your EQUINET setup, as they facilitate collaboration and the sharing of information with other professionals and clients as well as invoicing. If you have your clients’ details saved in your phone, you can simply import your contacts and move on to the next step.

Alternatively, if you’d rather enter details manually, each contact will require a name, mobile number (if you wish to SMS reports and invoices) and email address (if you wish to email reports/invoices). It is vital that contacts are easily identifiable, as horses will need to be assigned to the appropriate client for easy management.

Enter Your Horses

Much like how the horses you work with are the heart of your business, they’re also at the centre of the EQUINET app. EQUINET requires a horse to be allocated to each service you perform, and all services assigned to a horse will be available under its profile for future reference and enhanced care.

Horse records can be as simple as a name and human contact or as detailed as you would like them to be.

 

How Long Does It Take To Complete Admin Tasks With EQUINET?

Once you have your customer details configured, completing your admin with EQUINET should take very little time. Below is a simple guide for how long standard tasks should approximately take with the app:

  • Simple Invoice – excluding horse log, photos or notes for the owner – 1 minute
  • Multi-Horse Invoicing – 30 seconds after each service for invoice building, plus one minute for invoice completion and sending – i.e. 4 services on 4 different horses without reports should take three minutes in total
  • Horse Log Entry – including horse details, before and after photos, notes for customer, private notes for yourself, detailed description of products used in service and invoice – 5 minutes per horse

Please note, only Xero Accounting supports sharing the Horse Log with the Invoice in one email/SMS. If you are using QuickBooks, you will need to email the customer the horse log report separately..

 

Why Did Mustad Develop EQUINET?

With this in mind, we saw a need for a Farrier App that has been built for farriers, in consultation with farriers. EQUINET has come a long way since its first version, and it will continue to evolve as more farriers use EQUINET and give us feedback on how we can improve it.
